I AM EIGA was founded on a grievance every independent filmmaker knows by heart: you finish a film after years of work, and then the real work begins — begging festivals for a slot, negotiating with distributors who own the outcome, and waiting for permission to show the thing you made. The founders, a group of filmmakers and festival programmers, decided to build the alternative: a member-led platform where the filmmaker keeps the keys and the audience finds the film.

How the platform works

Members submit their films, curate premieres, and sell or stream their work directly to a global audience of cinephiles, festival programmers, and acquisition executives. Every title gets a proper premiere — a scheduled event with discussion, not a file dropped into a void — and filmmakers set their own terms: rental, purchase, subscription inclusion, or festival-only screening windows. Revenue splits are published upfront, dashboards show exactly who watched and where, and rights never transfer as a condition of entry.

What the community adds

Beyond the screening room, the platform is a working community: members find collaborators, composers, and colorists; programmers scout premieres for their festivals; and writers cover films the trade press skips. Curation is done by working members, with each premiere reviewed against published standards so the catalogue stays worth browsing.
